Ten Weeks Later.....

Well here it is 10 weeks since the last time I posted and FINALLY I have something for you to look at. I'm still having issues getting my studio completed due to a fairly significant leak in the roof right at the edge of where my studio space ends and storage space begins. I'm not able to put everything away properly so it isn't quite picture ready yet. I have got it set up enough to get creative though and the following is just some of what I've been able to do recently. If you want to see more of what my daughters and I have been up to you can go to my etsy shop. you should be able to just click the emblem in my side bar to get there or you can go to www.evenstardesigns.etsy.com
The following cards will be available for purchase after a couple of finishing touches.

For some reason the cards look squarish in the photos. I edited keeping the original aspect ratio but apparently they want to do what they want to do. Anyhow in reality it's an A2 (4.25 x 5.5") card. On this one I use Night of Navy and glossy white card stock from SU. I did a version of the polished stone technique (you can find the tutorial for it on www.splitcoaststampers.com ) I stamped the snowflakes from the long retired "Snowflakes" stamp set with silver encore ink and then embossed with SU's sterling silver embossing powder. The sentiment is from the brand new set Four the Holidays in the Stampin Up Holiday Mini Catalog. The silver cording is also SU before they went the way of elastic cording. I hoard this stuff. I'll be so sad when I finally run out.

This is one of my favorites that I've done this year. I've really been into the clean simple look for Christmas cards this year. Maybe it's because I'm busier than ever and my subconscious is telling me it's okay to relax. I got the two-tone ink on the tree by stamping in green galore and then using my sponge dauber to add garden green ink in random spots then huffed and stamped onto the very vanilla cardstock. The sentiment is from Four the Holidays as well.

I hope everyone had a fantastic thanksgiving. My daughter had to work but we still had a nice day.  Plus we had friends come for an overnight visit during the weekend. It feels great to be posting again! I hope i'll be able to keep it up on a consistent basis. I will be "seeing" ya soon. Now I have to go and work on some projects for  two silent auctions I'm donating to.

A Work In Progress

Hello Everyone! Just updating again and letting you know that I still only have half the studio done but now there is at least some paint on [some of] the walls. I've also been unpacking some things and getting them organized. I've even gotten some glimpses of card stock and rubber! I can't haul out the card stock yet because my paper storage is not yet installed. We have to get insulation and wall up on the other side of my space before I can do that. I have some pictures of the work in progress but I'm still using the library computers. if i can manage to wrangle my DH's laptop out of his hands I can bring it here (to the library) and do pictures then. the library has free wi-fi :-)
Well, my time is running out ( there's a 2 hour max limit per day for the library pc's) so I'm gonna sign off. I can't wait until I can get started stamping again! till next time........

Almost There!

I'm getting closer to having my creative space! My DH has been diligently working on putting in insulation and walls on what will soon be my official crafting space. We will have half of it ready to go by this weekend. YAHOO!!!!!!!!! I would post pictures of the progress so far but i haven't been able to find my card reader OR the cable that goes to my camera so that i can get pictures onto my computer. I'll be looking hard as I unpack more boxes this week (no, i'm NOT done yet).
I'm adjusting well to San Jose. Love the weather! I've been scoping out some possible venues to sell my creations from. There are so many possibilities and opportunities around here. It's all very exciting.
Well, I'm slightly famished and my daughter wants me to take her to get a couple of white buttondown tops for her new job. I will be back soon-hopefully with pictures. Have a fantastic week!!! See you soon.
